There are various ways in which youth corp members sent into different parts of the country make the best of their situations. For some, it may involve having fun and whiling away time, for a young man identified as Izu Aniagu however, he seems to be putting his service year to good use.
The Enugu-born graduate of law went all the way to Gombe state for service and took his passion for farming along with him. Speaking of his love for farming with NAIJ.com, Izu revealed that he took to farming as a private engagement due to his love for it.
Speaking more on how he went about it, he said:”I employed a mixed cropping system due to the small size of the land which is about a plot and half. I planted different crops such as maize, groundnut, beans, watermelon and cucumber on the same land and they are all doing well.”
The smart youth corp member who is currently basking in the glory of his farm harvest attributed his love for farming to his mother who taught him how to till the soil.
Izu revealed that he learned the skill of farming from his mother
Izu explained that his love for law as a profession and farming comes first before anything. Talking of his plans for the future that involves other things, he revealed that he would love to go into politics in the future.
The graduate of University of Nigeria, Nsukka sure knows how to make every moment count and definitely would cash out big if he decides to go commercial with his passion for farming. Amazing!
